Was born in 1941 in Kharkov. In 1964 he graduated from the physics department of Kharkov national university V.N.Karazin in 1968 - post-graduate department of physics of crystals. In 1968, Ph.D. thesis "Influence of pressure on the diffusion phenomena in ionic crystals."
Since 1968 he has been working at the university as an instructor, lecturer, professor. In 1985 he defended his doctoral dissertation on "Dislocation contact effects during sintering of the crystals." From 1986 to the present time - professor of physics department of Kharkov national university named after V.N.Karazin.
A member of several specialized scientific councils, member of editorial boards of national and international scientific publications, in particular: «Physics», «Sciense of Sintering», «Srystals Research and Technology». Was invited to the scientific and teaching work abroad in recognized research centers and universities: Technical University of Dresden, FRG - (1982 - 1983) Institute of Materials imenі Planck g Stuttgart, FRG - (1990 - 1993) Institute of Nuclear Jülich Research, FRG – (1994 - 1995), University of Karlsruhe, FRG - (2003 - 2004).
Scientific activities - materials, physics of nano - crystals and nanomaterials, nanotechnology.
He teaches courses on "Condensed Matter Physics", "Crystal physics," "The physical properties of nano - crystals and nanomaterials."
